Xfinity Live hosted the event on October 5! Philly Loved its household goods suppliers at the conference Philadelphia Area Relocation Council Fall Summit in Philadelphia.
Taking place near the ball parks, the river, and major routes, the Philadelphia Area Relocation Council’s annual fall summit was held in South Philadelphia. The one-day conference began with a corporate-only roundtable, where peers discussed topics, such as managing relationships with relocation management companies, cost-controlling measures, and procurement. A field trip, corporate panel discussions, a networking event, and puppies were all part of this educational, interactive, and fun event.
In a casual setting, Victory Garden provided networking opportunities for commercial members. PARC’s president, Stefanie Schreck, Esq., of CTDI, welcomed members and attendees to the general session. In addition, she thanked the sponsors who made the event possible. In addition to PARC’s charitable organization, To Love a Canine (TLC) Rescue, Tamara Holt of AVE introduced April and Tracy and three adorable puppies. TLC received over $600 from PARC at the summit.
Next, our corporate panelists discussed how they were shaping up or shipping out. Amy Parent, Francine Iacona, Patricia Velasco and Jennifer Carriker represented NBCUniversal Media and TE Connectivity, respectively. The panel was moderated by Nicole Zaccara of Paramount Transportation Systems, and engaging discussions were held about household goods movement, cost measures, and supplier challenges.
Sara Marisa Simonetti of Interconex presented an update on the household goods industry following lunch. In a bright, pleasant sky, attendees enjoyed additional networking and lunch in the outdoor garden. To get a better idea of the capacity of a typical truck, Budd Van Lines opened up one of its trailers. The purpose of this was to help conference attendees understand the physical movement of household goods. An hour-long tour of Phila Port’s facilities near Xfinity Live was hosted by Dominic O’Brien, one of the nation’s largest ports. As an independent agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Phila Port is the Port of Philadelphia. In Pennsylvania, it is responsible for managing, maintaining, marketing, and promoting port facilities along the Delaware River.
Xfinity Live hosted a networking reception to conclude the day! One person ranked the summit as “one of the finest PARC events ever” based on survey results and feedback from attendees.
