Congratulations to the four regional winners from FIATA and TT Club. Competitions like these encourage young people to demonstrate their talents and dedication in the logistics industry. YLP Award participants have not only demonstrated their knowledge but also honed their skills.
Next-generation logistics professionals are inspired by the YLP Award. This year’s winners submitted exceptional dissertations. The dissertations depict the intricacies of global supply chains and take into account a wide range of parameters, demonstrating their innovative nature.

Historic FIATA visit to Ethiopia: Trade facilitation, transport policy, digitalization, Global Air Cargo Program
A FIATA Director General was hosted in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 27-31 July 2023!
Students were honoured at the Ethiopian Freight Forwarders and Shipping Agents Association’s Train the Trainer (ToT) award ceremony, during which FIATA Director General participated to highlight the commitment to capacity building and excellence.
Key government officials were met and engaged by FIATA. The Deputy Customs Commissioner, National Transport Minister, and State Transport Minister attended. A global reference source for industry expertise and knowledge-sharing, FIATA enriched national and regional logistics supply chains with valuable insights into key elements. As part of its Digital Strategy, FIATA discussed its collaboration with intergovernmental organizations, including the United Nations and the World Customs Organization (WCO), and the need for digitalization and interoperability to facilitate trade.
As part of the visit, FIATA held a special workshop on its Global Air Cargo Programme. FIATA Air Freight Institute (AFI) Chair hosted this workshop. Representatives of the IATA-FIATA Consultative Council (IFCC) attended this workshop. In this discussion, key elements to include in a Global Programme for all regions were discussed, as well as possible solutions. Ethiopian Airlines representatives also interacted with delegates to discuss the future of air cargo. There will be more updates and opportunities for exchange during FIATA World Congress 2023.
After visiting Ethiopian Airlines’ state-of-the-art cargo facilities, the FIATA Director General concluded his visit to Ethiopia. During the COVID pandemic, this impressive site was a prime hub for cargo activities.

2023 FIATA World Congress Email Scam Alert
A number of scam emails purporting to be from FIATA have been sent. They claim to be from the professional Congress organizer for the 2023 FIATA World Congress in Brussels. FIATA World Congress participants’ contact details have been sold fraudulently.
Avoid opening attachments or links, and do not respond to such emails if you identify them as scams. Contact FIATA at info@fiata.org if you have any doubts.
Registration for the 2023 FIATA World Congress is open to FIATA members, non-members, and friends. The Congress will take place from Wednesday, October 4 through Friday, October 6 with pre-meetings for FIATA members only on Sunday, October 1.
